Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 April 2026
App / product: Find My Maid (also referred to as “FindMyMaid” in the app stores and on this site).
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our mobile applications for iOS and Android and this website. By using Find My Maid, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
1. Who we are
Find My Maid is operated by the entity identified in your app store listing and on our Support page. We provide a discovery and contact introduction tool between households seeking home help and independent helpers. We do not employ helpers, and we do not process salary or wages for domestic work inside the app.
Important — we do not verify users. The app simply shows the contact details and publicly listed information of independent helpers near you. We do not screen, vet, background-check, or endorse any user, and we are not responsible for the conduct, identity, or claims of any user. You are responsible for performing your own checks before contacting, meeting, or hiring anyone you find through the Service. See our Terms of Use for full details.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following categories of information:
- Account and contact data: name, mobile phone number, and role (family user or helper). This is needed to create an account and to let you sign in.
- Profile and listing content (helpers): optional profile photo, service categories, and rate information you choose to publish. This is shown to other users to help them decide whether to contact you.
- Location (optional): if you grant permission, we may access approximate or precise location from your device (depending on OS settings) to sort or label “nearby” listings. You can withdraw location access at any time in your device settings; some features may work with reduced accuracy or be unavailable without it.
- Reviews and ratings: text you submit and a display name; illustrative reviewer images may appear in some builds. Review content must follow our Terms and community expectations.
- Subscription and purchase data: when you buy a subscription, Apple and/or Google process payment. We receive limited transaction metadata from the store (e.g. subscription status, product id, renewal dates) as required to unlock features—not your full payment card number.
- Device and diagnostics: device type, OS version, app version, and crash or diagnostic data through the platform (e.g. Apple or Google) when you opt in to sharing analytics or crash reports. We use this to improve stability and security.
- Communications: if you email support, we keep the content of your message and our reply for as long as needed to resolve your request.
3. How we use information
- To create, secure, and maintain your account.
- To show profiles, search results, distances (when location is on), and reviews.
- To operate optional subscriptions and enforce plan limits (e.g. free contact allowances).
- To respond to support requests, detect abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the app (e.g. fix crashes) when diagnostics are enabled.
We do not sell your personal information as a commodity. We do not use your data to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects without human review where required by law.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or similar jurisdictions, we rely on appropriate bases such as: performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), and consent (e.g. optional location or marketing where we ask for it).
5. Sharing and processors
We may share information with:
- Apple and Google: as app distribution and payment platforms; their privacy policies and store terms apply to purchases and device-level settings (including subscription management and receipts).
- SMS / phone verification providers: to send one-time sign-in codes we use a messaging provider (e.g. Twilio). They receive your phone number only to deliver the verification message and are bound by their own terms and our instructions.
- Hosting, database, and app backend where your profile and account data are stored when you use cloud sync, under contracts that require appropriate safeguards.
- Analytics and crash reporting through the platform or subprocessors when you opt in to sharing diagnostics.
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by applicable law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
Other users can see information you put on your public helper profile or that you choose to share when contacting someone outside the app (e.g. phone or WhatsApp). We are not responsible for how third-party apps handle data once you leave Find My Maid.
6. Data retention
We retain account and profile data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, legal, and accounting needs. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal retention requirements; some anonymised or aggregated data may remain where it cannot identify you.
7. Security
We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data (e.g. encryption in transit where supported, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use the app at your own risk and protect your device and credentials.
8. Children’s privacy
Find My Maid is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. International users and transfers
Find My Maid is intended for use in many countries. Your information may be processed in the country where you live, in the country where our company is established, and in other countries where we or our subprocessors operate (for example: hosting, authentication, crash reporting, or payment validation). Those countries may have different data-protection rules than your own.
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar rules apply, we rely on approved transfer tools when required—such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum, or another mechanism recognised in your jurisdiction.
9a. United States (California and other states)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including to know, delete, and correct certain personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell personal information in the conventional sense; see Section 5). Other U.S. states are introducing similar laws; contact us on Support to exercise rights available to you.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing, and (where applicable) to withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact us at the email on Support. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority or regulator. We will respond within the timeframes required by the laws that apply to you.
10b. Language
This policy is published in English. If we provide a translation, the English version controls unless local law requires otherwise.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires additional steps (e.g. explicit consent).
12. Contact
